This striking pendant is crafted from a draft horse nail cast in sterling silver. It's inlaid with beautiful sky-blue turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona.

Its vibrant mosaic design is a signature style from my early jewelry-making days, making this a distinctive piece that blends history and artistry.

Draft horse nails are noticeably larger than riding horse nails — they have to hold shoes on the biggest working horses — which gives this pendant real presence without feeling heavy. The Sleeping Beauty mine closed years ago, so turquoise of this clear sky-blue color grows scarcer every year; each stone is hand-cut and set piece by piece into the nail head.
